The services start and stop with you, our local community partners, but the learning doesn’t have to.
45,000 non-profits with syrupy “feel good” calls to action clutter the veteran space. Meetings after meetings leave you longing for real learning and results. We have been there. We know how you feel and we believe that truly serving veterans takes the same kind of professional rigor and discipline as other highly skilled trades (think doctors and lawyers).
Communities of Practice are one of the many carry overs from the corporate world that we believe can improve the lives of veterans is the shared learnings that occur in communities of practice. For too long the veteran facing human services space has suffered from inadequate professional development and insufficiently structured learning opportunities. We are determined to change that, by educating, enabling and supporting one provider at a time, in one community at a time until a new level of professional, transparent and accountable service delivery is the national norm, not the anomaly.
AmericaServes 360 is a collective learning network that operates with the framework of communities of practice. Communities of practice are groups of people who share a concern or passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly. AmericaServes sponsors communities of practice at three levels: local, regional, national. Our practice encompasses recurring activities and the creation and delivery of meaningful content that further stimulates our communities into higher, more sophisticated forms of service delivery within AmericaServes (and beyond).
