The Southwest Regional Community of Practice is currently live in Texas. In Dallas, Metrocare is the AmericaServes partner and coordinating provider for TXServes – North Texas. Metrocare, another institution serving people in the health and human services space for over 50 years, provides services to more than 50,000 individuals annually. Metrocare is also home to a Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic and works in partnership with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Veterans and Family Alliance grant program. This network is expected to fully launch in May 2018, and regionally, AmericaServes is working to understand the needs of a few other Southwestern communities.
San Antonio and its immediate surrounding area is one of the largest military and veteran communities in the United States. The Alamo Area Council of Governments in San Antonio sponsors TXServes – San Antonio and serves as the coordinating provider. Texas provides a strong network of coordinated services to support our veterans, service members, and their families succeed in the civilian community. Together these two communities and three coordinated networks of over 150+ providers work together to improve service delivery for veterans, service members and their families though coordinated approaches to care.
