WAServes – Greater Puget Sound: Strategy Session Four
Seattle Double Header: America Serves + O2O on a Navy Carrier!
First the AmericaServes team facilitated a standing-room only event for Greater Puget Sound-area veterans, service members and their families’ providers. In this fourth Strategy Session, IVMF set the conditions to launch a new coordinated care network to better connect vets to resources in early 2017.
Next IVMF team members joined the Washington State Military Transition Committee (WSMTC) for a special session aboard the nuclear powered aircraft carrier CVN-74, U.S.S John C. Stennis. Today, 3,000 sailors were hard at work aboard her while Elisabeth Rocha, Installation Manager for Onward to Opportunity, and the WSMTC education team rolled out “Onward to Opportunity Northwest Edge” a new partnership to incorporate higher education alongside workforce and job skills development.
One Highlight: “…all of this stuff is great, but is there one website I can go to?” Several audience members pointed to IVMF to which we replied–“The WAServes website is coming Feb. 2017.”
