Theater of War

With National Military Appreciation Month in full swing and Fleet Week 2017 fast approaching, The Department of Veterans’ Services is thrilled to invite you to the next performance of Theater of War – the latest installment in our 2-year collaboration with NYC’s Public Artist in Residence, Brian Doerries.

Theater of War presents dramatic readings of ancient Greek plays which serve as a catalyst for town hall discussions about challenges facing service members, veterans, their caregivers, and their families. Community-based performances have been done at more than 600 military bases, prisons, and hospitals around the world. This article from the March 1st New York Times will provide you with more information about this exciting project.  What will surely make this particular performance all the more meaningful is that it will be held aboard the USS Intrepid over Memorial Day Weekend.

We invite you, and anyone within your military and caregiver network, to join us for what should be a truly memorable evening.
